sleep, come quick

it's really quite amazing how when you can't sleep, your mind just goes off on a rampage of ideas you tell yourself to remember the next day, and brings up memories you hadn't thought of in a long time. things that you don't really want to think about because they make you sad, or moments that you wish you could go back and if you think about them hard enough maybe you'll recall a little detail more than before. sometimes i want to block out memories that are really good, because i'm scared if i think about them too much, i'll realize that i don't remember all the pieces and then that's how it will stay in my mind forever... a mixed jumble of sequences that don't run together correctly. and if i just leave them untouched, they'll remain perfectly intact.

when i think about grandaddy, or mcrae i get sad. i don't remember enough of it to carry me through the rest of my life i don't think. i think you only get a certain amount of space for memories. and each time you make a new, really great one, one of the smaller, older ones get pushed and pushed out until you don't even realize you left it behind. i don't want to forget. i'm scared. my family has a history of Alzheimer's... what if i get it too? i don't want to think about that but i can't help it. i just want to sleep. i don't want to think about these things. but sometimes, every so often i have one of these nights.. where i toss and turn, worrying about how i worry, and reminding myself that i don't remember.

i hate nights like these. i don't like being sad. i don't like feeling neurotic. maybe i shouldn't say all these things, people will think i'm psychotic. i'm not... i'm just sooo tired!!!

you know i love a blue sky

could it be anymore beautiful outside? no. and do we deserve this after days after days of the most depressing weather in history? i'd say so. my run this morning was fabulous. i mean, as far as runs go.. they can't really be fun if you ask me. sweating and gasping for air while avoiding dog poo aren't among my list of delights.. but not ending up on the Biggest Loser is. so, i'll don my hot Mizuno sneaks and baby ipod and hit the trail. today i got about 2 miles in without feeling like i'd die. yeah, progress (i'm not a runner, don't make fun lol).

ailya told me that reading my blog is like one of the best things that ever happened to her. not exactly in those words, but i realize her heart and soul needs better than her. and this is it. i'm like a doctor of words. you're welcome, everyone.

speaking of blogs, jenna hasn't written in hers in like over a week. wtf? we started this together. and i mean obviously i'm obsessed with mine, but she could pump up the commitment a little. it's not hard to ramble on about nothing and make a few snarky comments here and there. whatev. i pick her up from the airport tomorrow, she's home from LA for almost a week!!! so put THAT in your blog JENNA! hanging out with me should be the highlight of your blog's history!!

anyways, last night i went to a cute little concert with katey, it was fun. and yesterday i had a job interview for a real estate company, nothing to do with art, but i wouldn't hate a pay check. its forever away, like marietta, but it doesn't seem like challenging work and its like 17/hr plus benefits. holla at a job with a sweet view of downtown atl and health insurance. maybe i'll get it, maybe i won't. i've learned not to take it too personally. in the eloquent words of Chumbawamba, "i get knocked down, but i get up again, you aint neva gonna keep me down."

football duh

watching football allll day with julie and tigs, just lazing around. not much else to do, its raining, terrential downpour, again. good thing our basement will probly flood again, because i never want to be rid of the fresh mildew smell. its delicious, for the nose.. noooot.

well t-minus 13 minutes til the UGA game. we best be winning because arizona isn't even ranked!

i finished the Dan Brown book "the lost symbol" last night, it was like an explosion of insanity.. in a good way. i liked it. his books always boggle my brain... and i learn a bunch of new words lol. i love new vocabulary!

well atleast i got my run in this morning before the monsoon trotted itself back into my life. get outta here rain, you aren't welcome and you make me pissed off. plus mom's sick, so its just not good for moral.

okay well its almost game time. this blog post was stupid. lol

ingie

ingrid michaelson concert was fabulous. on a coldplay concert scale (meaning, the coldplay concert last year was a 10) this was about a 7. not bad for 14 bucks! i barely made it there in LESS than an hour-- haha, i bet someone i could, i succeeded... sortof. there was so much road work and stuff from the flood, that i freaked and thought i'd miss Ingie!

but fortunately i made it in time, with like 20 min to spare. i love ingrid ellen michaelson. she is so cute, not in a lesbo way. just in a "oh you're really a cool girl we could be friends except you're almost 30 but thats okay because you're so awesome and a great singer" kind of way. you know? my friend kika was at the concert too, long story short she wanted to get her the Lost DVD because she requested someone bring it for the band, but Walmart was out of it, so she just settled for hanging out with Ingie and the band in their van for a few hours.. hey, awesome.

i drove back this morning, and i hung out with fleka at target and stuff. yay! i'm more than half way through my Dan Brown book, which is soooo good. and oh, i have a job interview on Monday. and now i'm about to leave and eat chickfila with katy and fleka, and then play tennis with them. so, pretty good day. :)

AND the office comes on tonight!

thanks for the ticket you crazy biaatch

i went to go with my mom just now to pick up the van, which was towed for the 2nd time this week after the power steering went out. well we usually go killian hill to get to this place, so i started off going that way, and realized oh wait maybe it's still closed at the bridge for flooding.

but when i got up to the killian hill intersection with fiveforks, there wasn't a road closed sign, just one on the right side of the road, not the left, saying detour. so, i turned left, and went down the road as usual, and when i get about 2miles down there i see a road closed sign, on the right side, but not the left, and people are going around it, including a cop. so i got around it, get to the top of the hill, and see that people are turning around because the bridge is way underwater. so i decide i'll pull up and turn around in the neighborhood. well this cop is parked right there, and she gets out and tells me to stop, so i did.

mutha effa goes "give me your license and registration" and i was like, "say what?" and she was like, "you are breaking the law, people are drowning, give me your license" i was like, umm okay? and she ends up giving me a ticket. now, i'm a reasonable person, so i tried to talk to her politely when she comes back, and she is straight up rude as can be, interrupting me, and saying that i broke the law also by going on the wrong side of the road. i was like, umm, people were going around it, i thought it wasn't closed on that side of the road, and there wasn't even a road closed sign at the intersection when i turned on here. and she was like 'yes there is we just checked' and i was like 'no, no there isn't. its on the other side of the road, as if you are turning right, not left, how would that be a detour for this.' and she was like 'here's your ticket' and i was like 'here, let me help you get that attitude in check by punching you until you go back to your pathetic life and rethink taking that mydol for your psycho hormones.' well i didn't say that part...

woman cops are such jerks sometimes. its not my fault you look like a man, and you need to chill out.

but i'm going to fight the ticket in november when my court date comes up. i'm not taking this shiz, this is so stupid!

so to be clear, that's: 1 flooded basement (including a strong mildew smell wafting into my room), 2 times my mom's car has broken down, and 1 ridiculous ticket, from a crazy heffer on killian hill... this week has been pretty stellar. haha

mother nature is a huge biaatch

(man pumping out our flooded carpet)

it will never stop raining. basement flooded over 400 gallons of water, so about 2 inches when you're walking around down there. plus its coming down hard again. we think the culprit is the gutters, unloading most of the water into the space between ours and carols house, and just seeping in. so we're gonna get some extenders and extend the gutters all the way to the pool we've started in the back by the treefort. then tomorrow i'm gonna get my goggles and swim some laps.

last night the lightening and thunder was louder than i've heard in my entire life. didn't sleep much at all. in fact i wimped out and slept in my mom's room in her bed, because this tree looms over my room and i just know that it will be my demise. i'm not taking that.

roads are closed, mudslides all over, and bridges blocked off. i'd say thats enough rain for now, probably.

but you know, we are safe, and so is tigger, and no trees fell (knock on wood, the storms not over). thank God for that.

go dawgs

i realize this blog is pretty pointless. i guess i dont have too much to say in here of importance. well get over it because i'm gonna write it anyways.

Dawgs won tonight :) loves it! what a close one, jeez! earlier today we went on a hunt for Beth's wedding dress, in Macon. it was fun! we didn't see the perfect one.. so tomorrow she's hittin the road and coming up this way to try her luck. i'm meeting up with her after the big 40th anniversary lunch at my church. i went to the Unhindered concert tonight at church, it was good! it felt really weird to see them now, when i remember like back when they started. i feel old. its true.

after wedding dress shopping tomorrow with Beth, i think i'm staying in atl to go to Buckhead church again with Katey and Megan. that's right, churchin it up 2 times in a day. and then we're staying for this singles thing afterward... hey, you know what? i'm not hitched, i do what i want.

dad says he knows some guy who's daughter works for an ad agency in atl, and that she agreed to meet with me. awk fest 09. oh well, who knows something good could come out of it. #1 being a job. who cares about the rest.
